In stock and shipping now! ������������ From Big Daddy Gore: Gurgling Gore is intentionally apolitical. I have preferred to keep the focus of the label on our shared passion for death metal. It is what brings us together, regardless of our personal backgrounds. However, there is one social issue that is incredibly important to me and to the label: the importance of owning physical media. In today’s subscription-based, AI-ridden society, supporting true underground art by purchasing physical media is a huge act of defiance. By doing so, you are using your hard earned money to directly support artists, rather than to line the bottomless pockets of multi-millionaires. But beyond that, when you own physical media, you are in control of it. The art therein has been preserved indefinitely, whereas when it’s left to the control of a mega-corporation, it is subject to future censorship and alteration, and in some cases complete eradication. And it’s not always a corporation that is meddling with art after its release; think of all the times an album has been reissued with alternate artwork or with a completely different mix/master/recording! I wanted to make a shirt that really celebrated the importance of owning physical media, so I commissioned Nightmare Imagery to put these thoughts into illustration-form. I think he nailed it; he drew evil puppet masters holding artists/consumers in chains, moving them on a conveyor belt, to be eviscerated and inserted into money-generating machines. The statement on the back makes the message very clear: “own physical media or THEY own you” This shirt is for the avid collectors… the most rabid supporters of the underground!
